Harry Potter

One of the most controversial characters in the Harry Potter series for me has got to be Draco Malfoy. He is such an asshole that in the long run i ended up having a strong love for him. I looked forward to the scenes he was in and always wanted to hear his snotty remarks. He’s the guy we all love to hate. He’s also the guy we all wanted to root for. We all knew from the beginning that he was a softy, and knew that in the end he would in some way help Harry Potter. and it helps that he was played by Tom Felton :) 

I think it is a given when you compare the two in my personal opinion, i don’t think its possible to truly be a Harry Potter Fan when you haven’t read the books. The movies are indeed great but they don’t give you the insight on the characters the way the books do. Without reading the books your don’t know all the minor details about the characters and the settings which do play a big part in the series. If your really do love Harry Potter go sit on the couch and read the books. now. 

I recently read on a  website saying that the Harry Potter series was nothing but a children’s book with simply no moral lessons in it and teaches the reader nothing. I strongly disagree with this statement, this series teaches everything. It shows you the true meaning of family and love. The strong bond of friendship ( Ron, Harry , Hermione). It also shows the evil that is in the world and about betrayal. So for someone to read these books and say they didn’t learn anything or take anything from them must of had their eyes closed the whole time.  

I tend to get “made fun of” for my infatuation with the harry potter series. A lot of people do understand how i feel about it and then there are the people that truly have no idea what its like. Harry Potter to people isn’t just a made up fairy tale written by some random british author. Harry Potter is and for a large majority of people their childhood. I started reading these book when i was in grade 4 or 5, and just last year was the last movie so that was a large portion of my life. Some 19 year olds choose to enjoy their time getting drunk and going out, I enjoy reading and watching Harry Potter . ALWAYS. ;)

There was a huge outbreak when JK Rowling came out and told the world that her beloved Character was indeed Gay. Some people feel that by JK Rowling outing the character after the series was over it was very unnecessary and uncalled for. I feel that people making fun of Dumbledore after finding out he is gay are clearly ignorant and never truly were fans of the series. I personally didn’t think anything of it while reading the series but now knowing the truth about him , there are certain things about him that do stand out. Dumbledore from the beginning has always been a crucial character to the Harry Potter Series and being gay does not change that. 

Ive been looking up some controversial topics in the Harry Potter series online and one thing keeps popping up on the websites the character Severus Snape. For those who did not follow the Harry Potter series from beginning to end would most certainly be on the side of Snape being the “bad guy” . For those who did follow the series until the end can agree with me when i say Snape was by far the most complicated and loveable characters in the series. SPOILER ALERT: SNAPE IS GOOD. From the very start of the series Snape is portrayed as this evil teacher out to ruin Harrys life. Although Snape was trying to protect Harry this whole time.. he still wasn’t exactly Harrys biggest fan. 

Snape was in love with Harrys mother Lily and because of this promised from her death that he wouldn’t let anything happen to Harry. Harry reminded Snape of Lily and thats why he always had such a strong connection with Harry ; good or bad.
